I know it's a little unusual for me to review just one track, but I felt I had to say something about this one. I first heard "You're Still On My Mind" yesterday thanks to a piece on Blabbermouth. I soon downloaded the track and I've been hooked on it ever since.

I'd imagine that is has and will acquire some mixed responses. I've read comments on the 'net with people slagging it off, and others singing it's praises. I love that someone like Jeff Walker has done this (for those of you unfamiliar to Jeff, he used to be in Carcass). It kind of shows that diversity in music is a good thing!

Anyway, on with the song... It's just over 2 minutes of pure genius. Everything about it is just perfect - the guitar (the almost continous guitar solo!), the piano... etc. I put this song on and I want to wear my cowboy hat, slip on my cowboy boots and drink whiskey (or wine would be more in keeping with the song!). This song makes me smile whenever I hear it (which has been several times today!). This isn't because it's funny or silly or done for any comic value, but simply because it's been done so well.

Jeff's album, "Welcome To Carcass Cuntry", is due for release on 9th May 2006 and will feature a variety of guests. I can't wait!
