Artist: Desensitised Track(s): "In The Grip Of Fear", "Blind Allegiance", "Stonerain", "Bought Beauty" and "Miscloned" Reviewed by: Lou
Since, like with many of the bands I review MP3s of, I knew nothing about Desensitised - I thought I better have a look around the website. I learnt that the band wasn't formed - it evolved... from another band called Catafalque. Judging by the material I've heard today, I may have to have a look around the internet and see if there are any Catafalque tracks available. I also found out that Desensitised are currently waiting to be signed by a label so that they can release their newest album, "Virus Of Violence". Apparently they've had quite a bit of interest so far and so this shouldn't be too far away. The tracks that I listened to today are taken from three different albums; "Virus Of Violence" ("In The Grip Of Fear" and "Blind Allegiance"), "Bought Beauty" ("Stonerain" and "Bought Beauty") and "Carnage" ("Miscloned"). My favourite tracks are "Blind Allegiance" and "Miscloned". "Blind Allegiance" is a great track which you can just imagine a decent moshpit being formed to. As I said before, this is good solid metal and therefore brilliant to jump around to. I can picture this band going down very well at a festival - Bloodstock or Wacken anyone? "Miscloned" is more of the same kind of thing, but this one has a great raw feel. This may just be because of the production, but whether it was done purposefully or not - it definitely adds something to the track. Desensitised are definitely worth checking out if you get the chance. It would be good to hear one of their albums fully one day. Date added: 10/01/06 |
